In North America, UnionPay cards are accepted at almost all the ATMs in the US. Also, cardholders can pay with UnionPay credit cards at over 80% of the local merchants or pay with UnionPay debit cards at merchants with PIN pads. In Canada, 90% of ATMs and more than 100,000 merchants accept UnionPay cards, while a number of daily spending merchants have supported UnionPay mobile QuickPass, enabling cardholders to pay by taping their mobile phones at the QuickPass terminals.
Meanwhile, UnionPay is making progress in Latin America, expanding its acceptance network to scenic spots, department stores, duty-free stores and restaurants favored by tourists. For instance, about 90% of ATMs in Mexico accept UnionPay cards for cash withdrawal, while 90% of merchants in Peru and 70% in Brazil and Ecuador accept UnionPay cards for payment.
