Lindsay Honda Awarded Prestigious LEED Green Building Certification

COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Lindsay Honda announced today that it has been awarded LEED Silver certification.  The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, is the foremost program for buildings, homes and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.

The transformation of the 156,000 square foot mall into the new Lindsay Honda dealership gave the owners the chance to upgrade using Sustainable Site opportunities. The reuse, salvage and recycling of all possible materials, along with lighting power reduction and added controls for efficient operation, helped lead the way to becoming LEED Certified.

Lindsay Honda’s LEED certification demonstrates tremendous green building leadership,” said Mahesh Ramanujam, president and CEO, USGBC. “LEED was created to make the world a better place and revolutionize the built environment by providing everyone with healthy, green and high performing buildings. Lindsay Honda serves as a prime example of how the work of innovation building projects can use local solutions to make a global impact on the environment.”

Along with the LEED Silver certification, Lindsay Honda is proud to announce it has earned the Platinum Honda Environmental Leadership Award, the highest award certification, for reducing its environmental impact.

“Not only are we proud to represent some of the cleanest most fuel-efficient vehicles ever produced with a long heritage in Honda engineering, but proud to be one of the few LEED certified and Platinum Honda Environmental dealers in the United States,” said Vice President, Steve Lindsay.
