Door To Door Organics Names Mike Demko CEO

LOUISVILLE, Colo., June 14, 2017 — Door to Door Organics, a leading meal planning and natural and organic grocery delivery service, has named Mike Demko CEO. An e-commerce veteran with a unique understanding of retail technology, Demko has extensive experience leading successful marketing and operations teams at companies such as FreshDirect and Priceline. As CEO of Door to Door Organics, Demko will direct the company to its next level of sustainable growth as it delivers an unparalleled online grocery experience to consumers in 17 states and Washington, D.C.

Demko will replace interim CEO Stefan Pepe who was recently named chairman of the board for Door to Door Organics. Prior to joining Door to Door Organics, Demko was COO of GPShopper, the leading developer of mobile solutions for retailers. While at GPShopper, Demko was instrumental in scaling the business and guiding the development of mobile engagement and commerce technologies for retailers that culminated in the acquisition of the business by Synchrony Financial. Demko also served as vice president of operations for online grocer FreshDirect and vice president of marketing for Priceline.

“Mike has an impressive track record with high-growth companies as a results-driven leader who has a deep understanding of the role of technology within the e-commerce ecosystem,” said Stefan Pepe, chairman of the board, Door to Door Organics. “His proven ability to quickly identify, assess and act on market opportunities will greatly benefit Door to Door Organics as we continue to grow our customer base and roll out new offerings that allow us to provide customers with the highest quality, healthy, local and sustainable food and ingredients and eliminate the stress of cooking healthy meals with incredible recipes and content.”

Since its inception in 1997, Door to Door Organics has made millions of deliveries of fresh, high-quality, organic, natural and local food directly to homes and businesses throughout 17 states throughout the West, Midwest and East Coast and Washington, D.C. Last year the company successfully merged with Relay Foods to create a single company with broad reach, market-leading technology and uncompromised customer experience. Door to Door Organics is also a certified B Corporation, which requires high standards for social, environmental and corporate responsibility.

“In an industry full of inflection points and burnouts, Door to Door Organics has achieved something that few e-commerce companies can claim: scaled, sustainable growth,” said Demko. “Over the last 20 years, Door to Door Organics has built a large, loyal customer base by sticking to its core values of delivering fresh, natural and organic food, powered by top-notch customer service and innovative technology. As the online grocery industry continues to evolve, I look forward to leading the company through a new era of growth as we double-down on these values and capitalize on new opportunities.”

Early in his career, Demko was an officer in the U.S. Army. He received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering from Princeton University and holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
